U.S. President Biden calls gun violence an “epidemic in the United States”. According to a media report, there have been 45 shootings in the past month alone.
Just on Thursday, another shooting occurred in the U.S.: Eight people died in Indianapolis.
Mass shootings are defined as those with more than four fatalities. Data from the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), local media reports, and police reports were analyzed.
The New York Times reports that the exact number of fatalities is difficult to determine.
In 2020, there were more than 600 of these mass shootings.
