India is overwhelmed by Corona cases

On April 24th, India reported nearly 350.000 cases more than every other country before. Indian hospitals are massively overcrowded. They have started to treat patients outside. The bodies are piling up. Meanwhile, India is running out of oxygen. BBC has reported that the prices for a normal oxygen canister have gone up from the usual 80$ to 660$ up to 1330$ on the black market. They also began offering fake Covid drugs there.

The United States of America have started sending raw materials for Vaccines and medical supplies, following the examples set by Germany, France, and Britain, who have also started sending supplies to India. The Indian airforce has now begun to import oxygen into the country. Delhi already is in lookdown other Indian cities are now following. Currently India only has 8.6% of its population vaccinated once, which is far from the estimated 60 to 70% of fully vaccinated people needed to stop covid.

The outbreak is likely caused by the Kumbh festival, which had millions of people celebrating together.
